Preemie Flow™ Nipple

• Consider using this nipple for a premature infant’s first oral feeding or if an infant exhibits feeding stress signals indicating the flow is too fast
• Often a good choice for newborns and infants who feed at the breast and are receiving supplemental bottle feedings

Level 1 Nipple

• This nipple is chosen for the more mature feeder who demonstrates consistent, efficient feeding skills and is taking larger volumes of milk
• Not initially suggested for infants who are also breastfeeding, unless specifically recommended by a lactation consultant or medical professional
• This nipple has 60% more flow rate than the Preemie Flow™ Nipple

Level 2 Nipple

• Typical correlated development skills at this level include sitting up with or without support, accepting early solids such as small amounts of cereal via spoon
• Consider using this nipple level if infant has established consistent feeding skills
• This nipple has 60% more flow rate than Dr. Brown’s® Level 1 Nipple

Level 3 Nipple

• Typical correlated development skills at this level include sitting up with or without support, taking solid foods such as rice cereal and stage 1-2 fruits and vegetables from a spoon
• Consider using this nipple level if infant has established consistent feeding skills
• This nipple has 50% more flow rate than Dr. Brown’s® Level 2 Nipple

Level 4 Nipple

• Typical correlated development skills at this level include transitioning to finger foods and cup drinking
